Sports Massage
Sports Massage is a rehabilitating process bringing together other massage techniques. Techniques are often deep that manipulate soft tissue to prevent injury, rid muscle tension and tendon pain. Highly recommended for regular gym goers, athletes or those that are desk bound! Use Sports Massage on top of your health regime including exercise, stretching and good nutrition.
What to expect
Firstly, an assessment will be carried out before your treatment. This may include posture analysis, body symmetry, flexibility and mobility. Allow for 1 hour for your first treatment. Sports massage typically focuses on specific areas of the body. Deep massage techniques will be used to stretch the fascia that surrounds the muscle and tendons. Poor posture and trauma can cause the fascia to harden and lose elasticity. This hardening can result in a loss of flexibility and pain! Effleurage, Petrissage, trigger point work, muscle energy techniques and soft tissue release will all be used to get you moving freely and pain free again. More niche techniques we may use are the use of a massage gun and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM).
